Dragonette

Whether this gorgeous canadian group is "getting around" or showing how they "take it like a man", they've got my full attention.
I recommend getting their album "Galore" today!

Eight Bullets for Shiny Toy Guns -

1. They are from America.

2. They make pop music which sounds like rock music and rock music which sounds like dance music. I'll refer to their sound as 'emotronica' until something better comes along.

3. They have been knocking around for around eighty (ie four) years during which time they have been involved in some of the best pop photography of the 21st Century. (Who knew?)

4. They released their debut album in 2005.5. They released their debut album for a second time later in 2005

.6. They have now released their debut album for a third time (now in a slightly reswizzled form) in 2006.

7. "Le Disko" version 3 is some what the same as the original ... but different enough to make a new video for and release as the first single.

8. They're back with a second video and single to be released on April 2cd. "You Are The One" is electro pop at it's best features the boy doing most of this singing. (I prefer it that way!) Slightly disturbing like the first video but with more special effects ... Check it out below.

The Bird & The Bee -

Welcome to a world of elctro pop infused beats accompanied by 60's vocals. It's very Karen Carpenter meets Imogen Heap and had a child with Bjork and Daft Phunk as cousins... or something along those lines. The Bird & The Bee are becoming one of my favorite bands. With a little of this and a little of that on their self titled debut album I'm sure you can find something you like. Check out the goodies below ...

The Bird & The Bee "Again & Again"

The Bird & The Bee "Fucking Boyfriend"

"Hung Up" -

I'm still a bit hung up on this song. When will it get old. Thought I'd share this remix I found. It's a little down tempo ... interestingly delicious.

The Gossip -

This is one of my favorite tracks right now. The video is a little blurry ... but it's all I could find. Check out the remixes below. (for my more gay bloggers)

The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control (Soulwax Nite Version)
The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control (Playgroup Mix)
The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control (Le Tigre)

Freemasons - "Rain Down Love"

Check out the latest release off the Freemasons album "Shake Down". The video is bit village people. I can't get this song outta my head.

Guilty Pleasure - Natasha Bedingfield

Natasha is back with another catchy track. I felt ashamed that I was a little excited when I herd the news. But after a few listens ... I'm on board. Check it out:

Mika's Style -
Let’s play Spot the Influence. Queen! The Communards! Frankie Goes To Hollywood! Just when you’ve got Mika pinned as a retro-glam Hi NRG soundalike, he whaps the horns out for a Blur-ry knockabout caper on ‘Billy Brown’. Which sounds a bit like ‘Penny Lane’. And ‘Daydream Believer’. He’s like a human iPod Shuffle, or the logical successor to Soulwax and Jive Bunny. The thing is, it’s not plagiarism. It’s totally unapologetic thievery, and you have to admire his cheek. On current number one ‘Grace Kelly’ Mika even admits that he ‘tried a little Freddie’. It’s the Scissor Sisters’ trick: appealing simultaneously to Radio Two nostalgia and angular disco kids (‘Stuck in the Middle’ actually opens with the Thomas the Tank Engine riff from ‘Laura’), and, a couple of duff Gary Barlow moments aside, it’s joyous and stupidly good exercise for your cheek muscles. - (Kirstin Innes) http://www.list.co.uk/

Just A "Lil Star" -

Kelis's last album "Tasty" had the hits milkshake and ... that's right just mill shake. Even though "Tasty" was fill with treats, non of the other tracks had any mainstream success. On her second album Kelis proves that she's "bossy" but lets hope her second single "lil star" can keep the boys in the yard. You be the judge.

Kelis - Lil Star

Kelis - Lil Star (Linus Love Mix)

Kelis - Lil Star (Future Cut Remix)

VHS VS. BETA / Madonna -

Here's a little mash up video I found on youtube. By far this is my favorite "Hung Up" mash up.

Gwen Stefani / Madonna -

Here we have another mash up effort. It works mostly due to the fact that this remix of "What You Waiting For" is the Jacques Lu Cont's TWD mix. Jacques A.K.A. Stewart Price A.K.A. Madonna's producer of the "Confessions ..." album = same beat on another track.

Time Goes By So Lowly-

The spanglish version ... Jennifer Lopez never looked so good!

Hung Up On Grey Gardens-

Check out the outfits, straight of the runway! March march march.

Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape" -

With Gwen's second release off "The Sweet Escape" album, she's finally getting back to roots. The single also titled "The Sweet Escape" is less hip hop and more Gwen. Even though we get a glimpse of her newly polished rapping skills, there is no reanimates of the Neptune's productions on this one. The official remix is another story. Check it out below:

Gwen Stefani - "The Sweet Escape" (Knovict Remix)

Oh Balls ...

This award wining Sony Bravia ad features the beautiful song "Heartbeats" by Jose Gonzalez. Note no animals where hurt during filming, just cars.

Check the link below for my favorite version of the song.
